Hidden: The Awakening of a Forgotten Muse

SHORT FILM

Synopsis

This short film tells the story of a statue that comes to life after years of being covered and forgotten. Inspired by the Enneagram Type “Four” song by Sleeping At Last, the narrative explores themes of significance and self-identity, depicting a figurative and literal journey of rediscovery. The statue, once admired, is left behind and veiled in fabric, symbolizing the deep yearning for being seen. Working with DP Jacen Sievers, we created a “time-lapse” effect using dynamic lighting to represent the passage of time. Set designer Lindsey Steed designed the environment to emphasize the main character, portrayed by ballerina Juliet Doherty, surrounded by other statues that all face her—"all eyes on her," echoing the Type 4’s internal struggle.
